All set for SCP Annual Review Conference

Preparations for the upcoming Annual Small Claims Procedure Review Conference are in advanced stages.

The Small Claims Procedure (SCP) Implementation Committee held a preparatory meeting ahead of the conference scheduled to be held on Thursday March 29,2018.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr. Yorokamu Bamwine,Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, who doubles as the chairperson of the SCP Steering Committee; Hon. Justice Dr. Henry Peter Adonyo as well selected staff from the Judicial Training Institute. 

Also in attendance where judicial officers from the different courts.

In his remarks, the Principal Judge commended Hon. Justice Kiryabwire for his dedicated service in the implementation of SCP.  He equally encouraged the participants to share their experiences freely.

He said, "We are ready to hear your concerns and together forge a way forward on how the Judiciary can effectively play its role in accessing Justice to those who badly need it."

The meeting took stock of the 2017 performance, generated action points for the upcoming SCP Annual Review Conference.

Participants provided their input to the SCP roll-out exercise.

The SCP Review Conference will also double as the launch of the SCP Annual Performance and Activity Report for the year 2017.
